Meesho Payment Cycle and Settlement Explained
Meesho pays a seller for an order after it is delivered: the order first appears in your payments with an amount, then gets a payment date, and the money is sent to your bank account on that date. Returns, RTO and ads are deducted along the way. Your payment files show each step.
How the Meesho payment cycle works
The Meesho payment cycle is the path an order takes from dispatch to money in your bank account. It moves through four steps.
- You dispatch the order and the courier delivers it. An order that is still in transit has not earned a payment yet.
- After delivery, Meesho lists the order in your payments with a settlement amount.
- Meesho gives the order a payment date. The number of days between delivery and payment is set by Meesho’s payment policy, which you can read in the Supplier Panel.
- On the payment date, the amount is sent to the bank account registered with Meesho, together with the other orders due that day.
The stages of a Meesho payment
At any moment, each dispatched order is in one of four payment stages. The Seller Help dashboard uses the same split.
| Stage | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Not updated by Meesho yet | Delivered or in transit, but not in a payment file yet | Wait, and upload newer reports later |
| Not scheduled yet | Listed in the payment file with an amount, but no payment date | Wait for the date |
| Scheduled | Meesho has given a payment date | Note the date and the amount |
| Received | The payment date has passed and the money has been sent | Match it with your bank statement |
What is deducted from a Meesho settlement
Charges linked to returns, RTO and ads are deducted from what Meesho pays you, and each one is listed in the payment file.
- Return charges on customer returns.
- RTO charges, where Meesho applies them.
- Ads cost, if you run ads on Meesho.
- Tax that the marketplace deducts or collects.
- Any other adjustment Meesho makes, such as a recovery or a compensation.
Which Meesho payment reports to check
Check two payment files from the payments section of the Supplier Panel: the upcoming (outstanding) payments file and the received (previous) payments file. The first lists what is still to be paid, and the second lists what has been paid.
Read them together with the order report, which has every order and its status. The payment files tell you what Meesho has counted; the order report tells you what you shipped. The gap between the two is the money you are still waiting for.
How to reconcile Meesho payments
Reconciling means checking that every delivered order was paid, and that every deduction is one you understand.
- Download the order report, both payment files and the returns files for the same period.
- Upload them to the free Meesho seller dashboard. Each file is recognised by its columns, and you review what was found before it is saved.
- Open Payments. You see what Meesho has scheduled, what is not scheduled yet and what Meesho has not updated, then your net payment after return charges and ads cost.
- Read the payment by date and compare each date with the credit in your bank statement.
- Read the payment SKU by SKU to find orders that were delivered long ago but are still not scheduled.
- Raise a ticket with Meesho support from the Supplier Panel for any order that is delivered, past its payment date and missing.
Why a Meesho payment looks short or late
A payment usually looks short because of deductions or because some orders are not due yet, not because money is missing.
- Some orders in the period are still in transit or have no payment date yet.
- Some orders came back as RTO or as customer returns, so they are not paid.
- Return charges or ads cost were deducted from the same payment.
- A bank holiday or weekend moved the credit to the next working day.
- You are comparing the listing price with the settlement amount. The settlement amount is the one that is paid.
From payments to profit
A reconciled payment tells you what came in, not what you earned. To see what is left after product cost and packaging, read how to calculate your real profit on Meesho. Returns are the other big reason payments fall: see what RTO is in Meesho and how to reduce it. For the daily packing work, the Meesho label crop tool crops and sorts your labels.
Frequently asked questions
When does Meesho pay sellers?
After the order is delivered, on the payment date Meesho gives that order. The number of days is set by Meesho’s payment policy, so read the current policy in the Supplier Panel.
Where can I see my next Meesho payment date?
In the payments section of the Meesho Supplier Panel. The upcoming payments file lists the payment date order by order.
Why has a delivered Meesho order not been paid?
Most often it has not reached its payment date, or it has no date yet. A return raised by the customer after delivery also stops the payment.
Does Meesho pay for orders that are returned?
No. A returned order is not a completed sale, and a return charge may be deducted for it. The deduction is listed in your payment file.
What is the difference between upcoming and received payments in Meesho?
Upcoming (outstanding) payments are amounts Meesho still has to pay. Received (previous) payments are amounts already sent to your bank account.
